Abstract

This research examines strategies for integrating local and global cultural values in educational systems to build students' global awareness. Using a qualitative approach with multiple case study design, the study involved principals, teachers, students, and community leaders from various educational institutions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. Results show that local wisdom-based learning strategies through the "Alam Takambang Jadi Guru" approach and cultural value transformation in five phases (habit forming, formative, embryonic, productive, maturation) effectively develop student character. The glocalization model integrating local wisdom, global perspectives, and 21st-century competencies successfully increased cultural intelligence by 20%, global awareness by 24%, and critical thinking skills by 17%. Main challenges include curriculum standardization, resource limitations, and harmonization of traditional-modern values. Implementation of project-based learning based on local wisdom with global standards proved to develop students' creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. The research concludes that integrating local and global cultural values can strengthen national identity while preparing competitive global generations.
