Abstract

The Effect of Problem Based Learning Model with Character Education Integration on the Outcomes of IPAS Class IV Students of UPT SD Negeri 7 Lanne Kabupaten Pangkep Department of Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Kegurusn and Education Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. Supervised by Amri Amal, and Anisa. This research is a Pre-experiment study with a one group pretest-posttest design that aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model integrated with character education on the learning outcomes of IPAS everyone UPT SD Negeri 7 Lanne totalling 69 students. The population in this study were all fourth grade students, and the sample amounted to 21 students selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through multiple choice learning outcome tests and group worksheets to assess the character of students such as activeness, responsibility, empathy, cooperation, and questioning skills. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to describe changes in Pretest and Posttest scores and improvements in student character. Inferential analysis was conducted using the N-Gain test, normality test, and hypothesis testing (Paired Sample T-Test). The results showed that the average score of students increased from 51.19 (pretest) to 86.90 (posttest) with an N-Gain of 0.75 which is included in the high category. The normality test shows that the data is normally distributed (pretest = 0.360; posttest = 0.145). The hypothesis test results show a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. In addition, the results of group work show an increase in the character of students in terms of activeness, responsibility, empathy, cooperation, and asking questions. The conclusion of this study is that the Problem Based Learning model with the integration of character education has a significant effect on improving students' IPAS learning outcomes.
