Abstract

Rohni Duani Purba, NIM 4202351001 (2025), Pengaruh Model Problem Based Learning Dengan Video Animasi Terhadap Kemampuan HOTS Siswa Pada Materi Sistem Gerak Pada Manusia di SMP Negeri 12 Medan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Problem Based Lerning Dengan Video Animasi terhadap Kemapuan HOST Siswa Pada Materi Sistem Gerak Pada Manusia Di Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Medan. Desain yang digunakan berupa pretest- posstest control group desain. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Medan yang terdiri dari 10 kelas dengan jumlah 312 siswa. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik random sampling, dimana kelas VIII-8 dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model problem based learning, sedangkan kelas VIII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menerapkan model ekspositori, dengan jumlah 60 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan HOTS sebanyak 20 soal pilihan berganda. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 dengan bantuan excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan hots siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui rata-rata pos-test kelas eksperimen 84,50 dan rata-rata pos-test kelas kontrol 67,50. Nilai N-gain yang diperoleh sebesar 0,70 berada pada kategori tinggi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model problem based learning dengan video animasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuan hots siswa pada materi sistem gerak pada manusia di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Medan. Kata Kunci: Model PBL, Video Animasi,Kemampun HOTS, Sistem Gerak Pada Manusia

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos on students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the topic of the human movement system among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Medan. The research employed a pretest–posttest control group design with a sample of 60 students, divided into an experimental class (30 students using PBL with animated videos) and a control class (30 students using expository learning). Improvement in students' HOTS was measured using the N-Gain score from the average posttest results. The N-Gain score for the experimental class was categorized as moderate. The data were analyzed using a one-tailed t-test. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 84.50, compared to 67.50 in the control class. Hypothesis testing revealed tcount=2.32 and ttable=2.045, indicating that tcount > ttable. There- fore, it can be concluded that students taught with the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by animated videos achieved significantly higher HOTS compared to those taught with expository learning.
