Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the drill method on mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Montong Tangi in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method and a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The instrument was a 10-item multiple-choice test that had been tested for validity, reliability, discrimination, and difficulty level. The subjects in this study were one class that received the drill method. The results showed that the average student score increased from 37.62 in the pretest to 72.38 in the posttest. Normality and linearity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and had a linear relationship. Meanwhile, the paired samples test yielded a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. Thus, the drill method has been shown to have a positive effect on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes.
