Abstract

This study investigates the strategic development of economic innovation management as a driver of sustainable organizational performance, synthesizing theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence from recent Scopus-indexed research. Economic innovation management encompassing financial, digital, and institutional dimensions has become a critical determinant of organizational resilience in an era of accelerating globalization, digitalization, and environmental regulation. Employing a mixed-methods approach that integrates a systematic literature review, a conceptual model, and a composite Innovation-Sustainability Performance Index (ISPI), this article identifies five strategic dimensions: (1) digital transformation and green innovation, (2) financial optimization and investment efficiency, (3) governance and stakeholder alignment, (4) human capital and knowledge management, and (5) circular economy and supply chain integration. Empirical analysis across 104 selected high-impact studies reveals a statistically significant positive relationship (r = 0.74, p < 0.001) between innovation management sophistication and sustainable performance indicators. The proposed ISPI model allows organizations to benchmark their innovation trajectories and diagnose strategic gaps. Policy implications and managerial recommendations are presented for practitioners and policymakers seeking to foster long-term value creation within sustainability-oriented frameworks.

Abstract

The digital era has fundamentally transformed the nature of work, creating new demands on employee health, engagement, and cognitive capacity while simultaneously offering unprecedented technological tools to address these challenges. This study investigates the relationship between structured Employee Wellbeing Programs (EWPs) and organizational productivity across ASEAN economies, drawing on secondary panel data from 10 ASEAN member states (2015–2023) and an integrative review of 20 empirical studies. Employing a Composite Wellbeing Index (WBI) constructed via Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and a two-stage fixed-effects panel regression model, the study finds that EWP adoption is a significant and robust predictor of organizational productivity (β = 0.43, p < 0.001), with the technology and services sectors reporting the highest productivity gains (14.6% and 13.2% respectively) from wellbeing investment. Digital tool integration, mental health support, and physical wellness programs collectively account for 75% of explained productivity variance. Governance quality and HRM strategic orientation significantly moderate the EWP–productivity relationship. The mean ASEAN Composite Productivity Index (CPI) rose from 58.1 in 2015 to 68.0 in 2023, with high-WBI firms consistently outperforming low-WBI counterparts by 15–20 index points throughout the observation period. The findings advance theoretical understanding of the human capital–productivity nexus in digital-era organizations and provide actionable recommendations for ASEAN policymakers and corporate HR practitioners.

Abstract

This study examines the role of sustainable business practices in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across ASEAN economies. Drawing on a systematic review of recent empirical literature and secondary data from 10 ASEAN member states for the period 2015–2023, the study evaluates how environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks, green investments, renewable energy consumption, circular economy strategies, creative economy, and human resource management (HRM) contribute to SDG attainment. Using a Composite Sustainability Index (CSI) and panel regression analysis, the findings reveal that ASEAN countries achieving higher ESG alignment scores demonstrate significantly greater progress toward SDG targets, with a mean CSI score of 62.4 out of 100 as of 2023. The results further indicate that renewable energy adoption and green economic growth are the strongest predictors of sustainability performance (β = 0.47, p < 0.001), while governance quality and corporate ESG disclosure amplify these effects. Sectoral analysis highlights heterogeneity in SDG progress, with the manufacturing and logistics sectors lagging relative to the services and technology sectors. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of sustainable business-SDG linkages in developing regional economies and offers actionable policy recommendations for ASEAN governments and corporate actors.
