Abstract

Surgical site infections (SSIs) are common postoperative complications in obstetric and gynecological surgery, with incidence rates up to 20% in cesarean sections. Antibiotics are the primary strategy for SSI prevention; however, antibiotic utilization patterns in this surgical setting remain poorly characterized locally. This study describes the antibiotic use profile, AWaRe classification, DDD/100 patient-days values, and DU90% segment among obstetric and gynecological surgery patients at Ulin Regional General Hospital, Banjarmasin, in 2024. A retrospective, non-experimental quantitative descriptive design was employed. Of 313 medical records reviewed, 137 met the inclusion criteria. A total of 173 antibiotic prescriptions were identified. Ceftriaxone was the most frequently used antibiotic (61.84%), with cephalosporins predominating (91.91%) and parenteral administration in 75.72% of cases. Based on the WHO AWaRe 2022 classification, 85.55% of antibiotics were in the Watch group and 13.29% in the Access group; no Reserve antibiotics were used. Ceftriaxone had the highest DDD/100 patient-days (33.74). Ceftriaxone and cefixime comprised the DU90% segment. These findings highlight a predominance of Watch-group antibiotics and support the need for targeted stewardship interventions

Abstract

Literasi obat pada anak usia sekolah dasar masih tergolong rendah, sehingga dibutuhkan intervensi edukasi yang menarik dan sesuai perkembangan usia. Program Apoteker Cilik (APOCIL) merupakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar mengenai obat-obatan secara benar dan bertanggung jawab. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada hari Jumat, 24 Oktober 2025 di SD Muhammadiyah Hajjah Nuriyah Banjarbaru, melibatkan 16 orang siswa-siswi kelas 3 Thalhah bin Ubaidillah. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyampaian materi interaktif, sesi kuis, dan praktik meracik serta membungkus puyer. Materi yang disampaikan mencakup pengenalan profesi apoteker, pengertian dan bentuk sediaan obat, penggolongan obat berdasarkan logo, serta aturan penggunaan obat yang aman bagi anak. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa siswa mampu menjawab pertanyaan kuis dengan baik dan antusias mengikuti seluruh rangkaian kegiatan. Program APOCIL menunjukkan hasil yang menjanjikan dalam hal pemahaman siswa pasca intervensi, dengan rata-rata jawaban benar sebesar 87,5%. Kata Kunci: Apoteker Cilik, Literasi, Obat, Sediaan Farmasi, Sekolah Dasar Drug literacy among primary school-age children remains low, necessitating engaging and developmentally appropriate educational interventions. The Little Pharmacist (APOCIL) program is a community service activity designed to improve elementary school students' knowledge and understanding of medications responsibly. This activity was conducted on Friday, October 24, 2025, at SD Muhammadiyah Hajjah Nuriyah Banjarbaru, involving third-grade students from class Thalhah bin Ubaidillah. The methods used included interactive material delivery, a quiz session, and practical compounding and wrapping of powder medicine (puyer). Topics covered included introduction to the pharmacist profession, definition and dosage forms of medicines, drug classification by logo, and safe medication use rules for children. Evaluation results showed that students answered quiz questions well and enthusiastically participated in all activities. The APOCIL program showed promising results in terms of student understanding post-intervention, with an average correct answer rate of 87.5%.
