Abstract

This study evaluates the impacts of inflation, firm size, and leverage, proxied by the debt-to-equity ratio, on IPO underpricing among companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2024 period., with underwriter reputation posited as a moderating construct. Employing a quantitative design, secondary data were extracted from corporate financial disclosures and capital market sources. The final sample comprised 140 underpriced IPO firms selected through purposive sampling. The empirical investigation employed multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results demonstrate that none of the explanatory variables exert statistically significant partial effects on IPO underpricing. Furthermore, underwriter reputation neither directly influences underpricing nor moderates the relationships between inflation, firm size, leverage, and IPO underpricing. Collectively, the explanatory variables also fail to exhibit a significant joint effect. These outcomes suggest that IPO underpricing in Indonesia is driven by determinants beyond the macroeconomic conditions and firm-specific financial attributes examined herein.

Abstract

The retail subsector companies play a key role in economic growth, and their firm value is influenced by financial performance indicators such as liquidity, which can attract investors and signal company strength. This study examines the influence of financial performance and inflation on firm value in retail sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 28 companies with 140 observations. Financial performance in this study is proxied by the current ratio and return on assets, while firm value is measured using price to book value. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The results show that the current ratio has a negative and significant effect on firm value, while return on assets has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Inflation, however, has no significant effect on firm value. All independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on firm value. These findings indicate that internal financial performance plays a more dominant role in shaping retail firms’ value compared to macroeconomic conditions such as inflation.

Abstract

Gen Z in particular may be influenced by the K-Pop craze in Indonesia to engage in more materialistic spending habits. Lifestyles that prioritize consumption, the convenience of online payment systems, and individuals' differing degrees of financial knowledge all contribute to this. With self-control serving as a moderating variable, this research seeks to examine the impact of financial literacy, lifestyle, and e-money use on the consumption behavior of Generation Z K-Pop fans in Greater Bandung. A quantitative approach is used in the study. Through the use of purposive sampling, 202 K-Pop fans from Generation Z in Greater Bandung were surveyed to gather primary data. Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to do the data analysis. The findings showed that there was a negative and insignificant relationship between financial literacy and consumption habits. Lifestyle and e-money use, on the other hand, dramatically and favorably impacted consumption habits. A lack of self-control does not mitigate the effect of lifestyle and financial literacy on consumption behavior, according to the moderation variable test. The impact of electronic money on spending may be mitigated, nevertheless, via exercise of restraint.

Abstract

The Indonesian capital market is sensitive to political and economic events, particularly changes in key government positions that affect investor expectations. This study aims to analyze the stock market reaction to the announcement of the change of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025, focusing on abnormal returns, trading volume activity, and stock trading frequency. The study examines 45 companies included in the LQ-45 index and listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, using an 11-day observation period from T−5 to T+5. Using a quantitative approach, this study analyzed secondary data consisting of daily stock prices, shares outstanding, trading volume, and trading frequency through one-sample and paired-sample t-tests. The results of the one-sample t-test indicate significant abnormal returns during the event period, confirming that the market reacted to the announcement. However, the paired-sample t-test shows no significant differences in abnormal return, trading volume activity, or stock trading frequency between the periods before and after the announcement. These findings indicate that the market reaction was temporary and did not persist after the event. The study contributes empirical evidence that political announcements can generate short-term market reactions, while investors should consider corporate fundamentals and macroeconomic conditions in investment decisions.
