Abstract

This study aims to analyze education quality management based on human resource (HR) revitalization at MTs Al-Ma’arif Jemaja, Anambas Islands Regency. The main problem addressed in this research is the low quality of education caused by limited teacher competence, inadequate facilities, weak institutional governance, and restricted funding in a remote island context. To address these issues, this study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and foundation board members. The findings reveal that education quality is significantly influenced by the condition of human resources, particularly teachers’ qualifications and professional development. In addition, structural challenges such as limited funding, inadequate infrastructure, and passive foundation management further hinder institutional performance. The study also finds that HR revitalization strategies such as recruiting qualified teachers, providing continuous training, diversifying funding sources, and strengthening foundation governance play a crucial role in improving education quality. These efforts enhance teacher competence, increase motivation, and support better institutional management. In conclusion, integrated and context-based HR revitalization is an effective approach to improving education quality, especially in remote and resource-limited madrasah environments, and can serve as a model for similar institutions facing comparable challenges.

This study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design through a survey involving 150 respondents, consisting of principals, teachers, and educational staff. The research instrument was developed based on the resource-based view and educational innovation theories. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS to examine the relationships among variables. The results indicate that educational innovation, strategic leadership, and the integration of Islamic values have a significant effect on competitive advantage. These findings highlight that Islamic educational institutions capable of managing unique resources based on values and technology tend to achieve higher competitiveness. This study contributes theoretically by developing a competitive advantage model grounded in Islamic values and provides practical implications for educational managers in responding to disruptive changes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of school principal leadership in developing students’ literacy culture at SMP Negeri 1 Siantan. The main issue addressed in this research is the relatively low level of students’ literacy, which remains a significant challenge in improving educational quality. School leadership plays a strategic role in integrating literacy programs systematically and sustainably within the school environment. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The participants consisted of a principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that the transformation of school principal leadership is reflected in the strengthening of literacy-oriented vision, the development of innovative literacy programs, the enhancement of collaboration among teachers and stakeholders, and the creation of a conducive literacy environment. Transformational leadership was found to significantly improve students’ engagement in literacy activities. However, several challenges remain, including limited resources and initially low reading interest among students. This study concludes that school principal leadership plays a crucial role in fostering a sustainable literacy culture in schools.

Abstract

Graduate quality is a key indicator of educational success, especially at the primary level where academic, character, and social development are formed. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers’ pedagogical competence and school culture in shaping graduate quality at SDN 006 Batu Belah. A qualitative case study approach was used to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The participants included one principal, six teachers, and ten students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using interactive techniques involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers’ pedagogical competence significantly enhances student engagement and learning outcomes through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation. School culture, reflected in discipline, character values, and daily habits, also contributes to a conducive learning environment. However, collaboration within the school culture still needs improvement. The study further reveals that the synergy between pedagogical competence and school culture has a stronger impact on graduate quality than either factor alone. Therefore, improving graduate quality requires an integrated approach that strengthens both aspects simultaneously.
