Abstract

Vocational high schools are schools that focus on specific skills, which presents both opportunities and challenges. The highest unemployment rates in Indonesia are found among school-age and post-school youth, specifically those aged 15 to 24. This phenomenon serves as a wake-up call for schools regarding how graduates can be absorbed into the job market or become independent entrepreneurs. The objective of this community service initiative is to provide new competencies and skills to students at SMK YPIB Cirebon to help them navigate the modern labor market. This initiative employs the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method from start to finish. The results show that the community service program—which consisted of training in herbal medicine production and digital marketing—successfully enhanced the competencies and skills of YPIB Vocational High School students. This is evidenced by the products they produced and subsequently marketed through digital platforms, which received positive consumer feedback. Additionally, students were able to collaborate in groups or work independently to design product packaging that appeals to consumers. Through this training, students not only understand the business opportunities in herbal medicine but also learn to integrate local culture with modern marketing practices..
