Abstract

ABSTRACT Sectio caesarea is the process of delivery by delivering the fetus through an incision in the abdominal wall (laparotomy) and uterine wall. Post cesarean wound infection is a common complication with a 25 times higher risk than normal delivery. Caesarean wound care methods that are considered effective are Transparent Film and Melamine which can absorb exudate fluid and maintain wound moisture for a faster and better healing process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of Transparent Film and Melamine on the healing process of Post Sectio Caesarea wound at Buah Hati Hospital, Ciputat. This study used quantitative research designed as Quasy Experiment without Control Group by using pre-test and post-test approach. The pre-test results for 20 respondents showed that all responses experienced degenerative wounds with an average value of 31.70 ± 5.059, while the post-test results for 20 respondents showed that all respondents experienced regenerative wounds with an average value of 16.35 ± 4.107. There was a change in Winner Scale score before and after the intervention of giving Transparent Film and Melamine to patients with Post Sectio Caesarea wounds with a p-value of 0.000 (p0.001), so it can be concluded that Transparent Film and Melamine are effective in the healing process of Post Sectio Caesareawounds at Ciputat Buah Hati Hospital. Keywords: Sectio Caesarea, Wound Care, Transparent Film, Melamine, Effectiveness.

Abstract

Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a widely used prenatal screening method that enables early detection of fetal chromosomal abnormalities with minimal risk to both mother and fetus. Despite its clinical advantages, the increasing use of NIPT raises ethical concerns, particularly related to medical decision-making when fetal anomalies are identified. This article aims to review the application of NIPT and analyze ethical issues arising from prenatal decision-making through the perspective of Islamic bioethics. This study employed a narrative review method by analyzing national and international peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last five years, focusing on NIPT, ethical dilemmas, fetal anomaly management, and Islamic bioethical principles. The findings indicate that NIPT is clinically effective and ethically acceptable as a screening tool; however, challenges remain regarding informed consent, routinization of testing, reproductive autonomy, and the potential influence of screening results on decisions related to pregnancy continuation. From the perspective of Islamic bioethics, medical decision-making following NIPT should be guided by maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, particularly the protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), consideration of benefit and harm, and respect for human dignity. In conclusion, integrating Islamic bioethical values into prenatal care is essential to ensure ethical, responsible, and culturally sensitive use of NIPT in clinical practice.
