Abstract

This research is motivated by the emergence of Generation Alpha in urban Madura, who more frequently use simple, practical language, often mixed with Indonesian or, as it's called, social media language. This phenomenon has the potential to weaken the use of the language "Engghi bhunten" in daily life. Therefore, if not given special attention, it is feared that the value of tengka embodied in the use of the language engghi bhunten will fade. In this study, the researcher used qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors influencing the sustainability of the tengka value in the practice of using the engghi bhunten language among Generation Alpha in urban areas, and to identify efforts made to maintain the existence of the tengka value in the use of the engghi bhunten language among Generation Alpha in urban areas. The research findings indicate that the influencing factors include the dominance of national and global languages, the influence of technology and digital media, and urbanization. As for the efforts made to preserve the use of the Engghi Bhunten language, these include integrating regional languages into education, the role of families, cultural activities, and communities. Keywords: Tengka Value, Engghi Bhunten Language, Generation Alpha

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling the values of gender equality in the elementary school environment, particularly at SDN Larangan Luar 3, Pamekasan Regency. The research is based on the persistence of patriarchal cultural influences that shape students’ mindsets and behaviors, resulting in biases regarding the roles of men and women in social and educational contexts. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that PAI teachers play a strategic role in shaping students’ understanding of justice and balance between men and women in accordance with Islamic teachings. This role is manifested through advising, providing motivation, habituating equitable behavior in daily life, and offering moral and spiritual guidance to students. Furthermore, the study reveals that supporting factors include inclusive school policies and a conducive learning environment, while inhibiting factors consist of students’ emotional immaturity and biased perceptions of gender roles. Overall, the study concludes that PAI teachers serve as agents of social change who play a vital role in realizing gender-equitable and inclusive education based on Islamic perspectives
