Abstract

The unmet need for family planning in North Sumatra Province is recorded to be higher than the national average. This condition has implications for an increased risk of unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions, and elevated maternal mortality rates (MMR). This study aimed to analyze the determinants of unmet need for family planning in North Sumatra Province. The study employed an analytic design with a cross-sectional approach using secondary data from the 2023 Updating of the Family Data Collection (Pendataan Keluarga) conducted by BKKBN, involving 3,407 couples of reproductive age. Data analysis was carried out through univariate, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression.
