Abstract

The implementation of the compulsory reading program at the Cakrawala Kindergarten is still limited in terms of duration and variety of activities, making it less than optimal in increasing the interest and participation of Package B learners. This study aims to describe the role of Cakrawala Kindergarten managers in optimizing the compulsory reading program for Package B learners, analyzing management strategies, and identifying supporting and inhibiting factors in program implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with research subjects being managers and Package B learners. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that managers carry out managerial functions including planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The strategies implemented include providing motivation and appreciation, creating an interesting learning atmosphere, selecting reading materials according to interests, and literacy innovations such as media conversion. Supporting factors include the availability of facilities, book collections and manager support, while inhibiting factors include limited time and low initial reading interest. The novelty of this study lies in the focus of the study which emphasizes the role of TBM managers in optimizing the compulsory reading program on the Package B equivalency education pathway.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the partnership planning between LPPK Bhakti Nusa and the workforce, the forms of partnership, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the Director of LPPK Bhakti Nusa, the Head of the Academic Division, and two industry partner representatives, as well as through a document review of the MoU, tracer study data, OJT logbooks, and other partnership documents. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that LPPK Bhakti Nusa’s partnership planning encompasses four stages: identifying partnership program needs based on demand from the cruise ship and hospitality industries; analyzing the potential of prospective partners using criteria for four- and five-star hotels; evaluating previous collaboration outcomes; and developing an action plan. Forms of partnership include teaching collaboration through the involvement of guest instructor, On-the-Job Training (OJT), and graduate placement through partner hotels, P3MI, and cruise ship agencies. This study examines partnership planning at LPPKs in the hospitality sector that is responsive to international industry standards and can serve as a reference for similar non-formal educational institutions.

Abstract

This study evaluates the culinary training program at SPNF SKB Ungaran using the CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome) evaluation model. A qualitative evaluative approach was employed, involving the head of the institution, program managers, instructors, and two alumni selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive data analysis model. The findings reveal that the program is aligned with community needs and local economic potential, particularly in supporting micro-scale culinary entrepreneurship. The input component demonstrates adequate instructor qualifications, sufficient learning facilities, and a needs-based curriculum design. The learning process emphasizes practical activities (80%) over theoretical instruction (20%), contributing to significant improvements in participants' technical competencies and self-confidence. The product evaluation indicates enhanced cognitive, psychomotor, and affective competencies. At the outcome level, interviewed alumni have successfully developed independent culinary businesses, reflecting positive economic empowerment. This study contributes by applying the CIPPO model to evaluate nonformal vocational training programs at SKB, with emphasis on long-term entrepreneurial outcomes within life skills education framework.
