The problem in this study is the weak reading ability of children in Karunia Kindergarten, Medan Johor District, the learning media used by teachers in Karunia Kindergarten, Medan Johor District is still limited and the Pop-Up Book learning media has never been used by teachers in Karunia Kindergarten, Medan Johor District. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of pop-up book media on the reading ability of children aged 5-6 years in Karunia Kindergarten, Medan Johor District. This study uses a quantitative research type with an experimental method in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were all children aged 5-6 years in Karunia Kindergarten, Medan Johor District with a total of 22 children, consisting of class A consisting of 5 children, class B-1 consisting of 10 children and class B-2 consisting of 7 children. The sampling technique used in this study used Random Sampling with the research sample obtained, namely all children aged 5-6 years in Karunia Kindergarten class B-1 with a total of 10 children, consisting of 4 boys and 6 girls. The data collection instrument in this study used observation and documentation sheets. The data analysis technique used nonparametric statistics, namely the Wilcoxon Test. The results of the calculation and hypothesis testing of the data obtained that the Asymp. Sig value is 0.005. Thus, it can be concluded that the sig value (2-tailed) <0.05 means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be stated that there is a significant influence on the use of Pop-Up Book learning media on the reading ability of children aged 5-6 years in Karunia Kindergarten, Medan Johor District.
