Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of Islamic educational institutions in shaping a generation with character and global competitiveness through a religious humanism approach. In facing the challenges of globalisation, which demands high academic competence and moral integrity, Islamic educational institutions are required not only to teach knowledge but also to instil humanitarian and spiritual values rooted in Islamic teachings. This study uses a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data were obtained from various relevant academic literature and analysed thematically to find patterns of implementation of religious humanism values in the context of Islamic education. The results show that Islamic education has a strategic role in developing well-rounded individuals (insan kamil) by integrating the dimensions of faith, knowledge, and morals in the learning process. The strategy for implementing the values of religious humanism is reflected in value-based curriculum design, participatory learning methods, the moral exemplary behaviour of educators, and the formation of an institutional culture oriented towards justice, empathy, and social responsibility. By applying these strategies, Islamic educational institutions are able to produce a generation that is not only intellectually superior, but also polite, moderate, and ready to compete at the global level without losing their spiritual identity.
