Abstract

This article examines the impact of ChatGPT and Gamma AI on students' academic processes, particularly in writing papers and presentations, and their implications for critical thinking. This research is motivated by students' increasing reliance on artificial intelligence technology, which provides instant information and assignment structure, potentially altering their learning patterns. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study involved observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to explore how AI technology affects students' knowledge construction processes, reading patterns, writing quality, and presentation skills. The results indicate that students tend to shift from analytical reading patterns to consumptive reading patterns due to the presence of instant summaries and automated materials. Other findings suggest a risk of reducing critical thinking skills when students rely more on AI output than on the analysis, evaluation, and synthesis processes that should be at the core of academic activities.

Abstract

This research analyzes the historiography and interfaith dialogue related to the Aluk Todolo belief in Mapia, Kapala Pitu, Lembang Benteng Mamullu, North Toraja. The study focuses on the interaction of ancestral cosmology, the social structure of the tongkonan (traditional tongkonan), and the presence of world religions, particularly Christianity and Catholicism, in shaping local religious historical narratives. Using a qualitative approach, case study design, and narrative analysis, this research reconstructs the community's internal narrative through interviews with tominaa (traditional leaders) and traditional leaders, then places this narrative in critical dialogue with established academic narratives. The findings indicate that the Aluk Todolo ritual is not extinct but is reinterpreted through glocalization, reconstruction of death rites, and interfaith family practices that negotiate the boundaries between traditional and official religions. Interfaith relations are based on tongkonan kinship, while the identities of the younger generation are hybrid, combining official religion with ancestral memories and symbols.

Abstract

This article examines God's consistency in the dynamics of covenant change by examining the concepts of berit in the Hebrew tradition and diatheke in the context of the New Testament. Through a theological exegetical approach that combines historical, linguistic, and narrative analysis, this study demonstrates that changes in the form, purpose, and expression of the covenant do not signal a change in God's character, but rather affirm His faithfulness in salvation history. Berit presents the relational foundation between God and people, where God's initiative and commitment are central. Meanwhile, the development of diatheke in Christ demonstrates the ultimate fulfillment of God's promise, paving the way for a new covenant that is universal, transformational, and rooted in grace. This article also highlights theological implications for contemporary believers, including understandings of faith identity, ethical life, and the ecclesiastical responsibility as a covenant community. Overall, this study confirms that God's consistency is fundamental to the reinterpretation of the covenant in the contemporary context, while also providing direction for a relevant and responsible life of faith.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between digital discipleship and mental health in the faith formation of Christian teenagers in virtual worlds. Employing a qualitative library‑research design, it integrates practical theology, adolescent psychology, and digital media studies within the framework of discipleship theology and shalom. The findings indicate that digital discipleship practices such as hybrid worship, online small groups, and mentoring through social media provide wide access to biblical teaching and communal support, yet simultaneously emerge amid high levels of anxiety, loneliness, and performative spirituality. The virtual world is therefore understood as an ambivalent locus theologicus: a space of faith formation and a potential source of mental‑health risks. The article proposes conceptual categories such as healing digital liturgies, faith communities as counter‑communities to algorithmic culture, and digital Sabbath as a Christian discipleship discipline, and outlines practical implications for youth discipleship curricula and pastoral care.

Abstract

This article examines in-kind offerings in the church as a phenomenon that lies between two poles: an expression of faith and the potential for economic commodification. Using a qualitative approach based on literature, this research examines the theological meaning of in-kind offerings as a response of the congregation to God, the risk of misappropriation when offerings are treated as economic assets, and the relevance of the Cleansing of the Temple narrative as a critique of religious practices that deviate from the purpose of worship. The analysis shows that in-kind offerings are a manifestation of spirituality rooted in gratitude and obedience, but can lose their meaning when the church fails to maintain integrity in its governance. The Cleansing of the Temple narrative provides an ethical foundation for rejecting all forms of commercialization in worship spaces. This article emphasizes that transparency, accountability, theological education, and service orientation are key principles for ensuring offerings are managed according to the values of the Kingdom of God. Thus, in-kind offerings are not only part of liturgical rituals but also a field for character formation and the church's witness in the world.
