Abstract

Farmers are a job that is very at risk of experiencing poisoning due to pesticides, many of which are the factors that cause poisoning, such as environmental factors and the behavior factors of the farmers themselves every time they use or have direct contact with pesticides. Pesticide poisoning can be minimized by improving behavior when using pesticides and using complete PPE. This study aims to describe the behavior of farmers, by knowing the knowledge, attitudes and actions of farmers in Serdang Bedagai. The method in this research is descriptive, the sampling technique uses purposive sampling, with a total population of 75 people, the primary data is obtained by observing and interviewing using a questionnaire, and the data obtained will then be processed univariately for all variables in the study. The results showed that out of 31 respondents, 12 respondents (38.7%) had good knowledge of farmers, 18 respondents (58.1%) had attitudes in the sufficient category, 28 respondents (90.3%) had actions in the poor category. Of the 31 farmers in Bonto Village, they already had fairly good knowledge and attitudes, but the opposite was true with very little action. It is hoped that the farmers in Bonto Village will remind each other about the use of PPE, and it is hoped that farmer groups or related agencies and the agricultural service will supervise farmers so that they have awareness of using PPE.

Abstract

Mining is the most dangerous occupational sector in the world. Based on statistical data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, during 2019 there were mining accidents which resulted in the death of 24 people, 105 workers heavy and 28 workers light. The cause of work accidents in the workforce is related to exposure to underground mining toxic gases. This study used the Literature Review (LR) methodology where the data source was obtained from "Scopus" with search keywords the year of publication was limited from 2019 - 2023. From a literature review, predeposition factors consisting of age, work experience, work location and body parts have an effect on work accidents in workers, risk assessment factors are the most important factors applied to prevent work accidents in the workplace and the role of the company in influencing work accidents. Based on the research questions, it can be concluded that the causes of work accidents include: lack of knowledge and motivation in using personal protective equipment and not carrying out work permit compliance procedures, not using personal protective equipment and not having a work permit socialization. Factors such as worker age, work experience are not positively correlated with work accidents while work location and body parts influence the causes of work accidents. Risk assessment factors can be carried out to minimize the occurrence of work accidents. In addition, it is known that many companies have prioritized safety issues as evidenced by the many studies conducted by companies to prevent work accidents in the workforce.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety is an important matter that must be seriously considered in construction work to minimize the potential for work accidents, material and moral losses which will later be used to support effective and efficient performance improvements. PTPN VI has buildings with various forms and different functions and very busy work activities, so it is very important to take into account preparedness in dealing with emergencies so that excessive panic, losses and even fatalities do not occur. In the production environment, work accidents still occur on a moderate to severe scale. The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) is described. Data collection for this study was carried out through observation of the field and work environment as well as distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results of the study show that all procedures in dealing with emergencies have been complied with and carried out by the management of the Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Committee (P2K3) in accordance with the provisions stipulated by Government Regulation Number 50 of 2012 concerning Implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3)

Abstract

K3 Management System is a K3 management process that is integrated into a complete management system starting from the stages of planning, implementation, measurement, and supervision. The International Labour Organization (ILO) considers the implementation of SMK3 in Indonesia unsatisfactory and states that Indonesia is ranked second lowest in the world in the application of K3. The purpose of this literature study is to analyze from previous research on the implementation of the K3 plan and the improvement of SMK3 performance at PT. PLN (Persero). Research method This research uses literature review study methods and is qualitative. Literature search using a database in the form of secondary data from scientific articles / journals with the web using Google Scholar, or official article websites. Results a). Implementation of the K3 Plan, some companies have implemented K3 planning well but there are still those who are not aware of the use of PPE recommended rules. b). Review and Performance Improvement SMK3 has implemented regular review carried out in the form of meetings for 1 year in order to maintain maximum performance improvement of SMK3 at PT. PLN (Persero). Conclusion The Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) at PT PLN (Persero) is well implemented and follows the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP). However, there are some shortcomings in its implementation due to lack of proper planning and execution. System improvements and improvements are needed to ensure the continuity of the K3 system

Abstract

Mining is known as a high risk industry with a high accident rate. However, there is a dearth of materials that aim to hide and understand mining accident research trends and current scenarios related to this topic. Therefore, this systematic assessment aims to investigate research trends in mining accidents. By applying the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method, a systematic literature assessment (SLR) identified 57 cases related to mining accident issues from 2015 to 2019 from the ScienceDirect and Scopus databases. Based on these 57 studies, four main themes were raised, namely the main causes of mining accidents (46%), prevention of mining accidents (20%), and lawsuits (17%) and the impact of post- mining accidents (17%). The four themes produce a total of 35 sub-themes. Engineering failures are identified as a major cause of mining accidents and the application of safety software or models is essential to minimize the number of mining accidents. Mine owners have a responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their miners, and there are major challenges to achieving this. In addition, the impact of post-mining accidents has a negative impact on the environment. This systematic appraisal study aims to assist mine owners by providing a better understanding of the problem of mining accidents. This study is also addressed to miners, government, and policy makers so that all parties can jointly target mining accidents in the future.

Abstract

Mining is some or all stages of activities in the framework, management and exploitation of mineral or coal mining which includes general investigations, exploration, feasibility studies, construction, mining, processing or refining, or development and utilization of minerals or coal. Based on work accident data in Indonesia from BPJS Katenagakerjaan for the period January to September 2021, it was revealed that 82 thousand cases were related to work accidents and 179 cases were related to occupational diseases (PAK), with 65% related to Covid-19. As provided by information from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), there were 93 work accidents in the mining sector in 2021. These incidents included 36 cases considered light, 57 cases classified as heavy duty, and 11 deaths due to work accidents . The aim of this research is to find out how to control the risk of work accidents in mining workers. One of the causes of workplace incidents is directly linked to unsafe actions and unsafe conditions, which ultimately lead to the shutdown of operational processes involving individuals or equipment.
