Proses Pembinaan Karakter Anggota Paskibra di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir

Abstract

This study aimed to describe character development of members of Paskibraka in Ogan Ilir. The study applied descriptive qualitative method. The data was collected by running the interview and documentation. The results from the study showed that there were three indicators in the process of character development of members of Paskibraka, that were : 1) The development process on technics, that were the skills development of line of march, the procedures of folding, stretching and carrying Indonesia’s flag and mastery of the approriate technique of flag ceremony. 2) the non-technique development process of the members of Paskibraka, that were knowledge development including the knowledge development of the particular night schedule materials describing about the history of the National Independency, the flag and the knowledge about resources that were available in Ogan Ilir regency. 3) the character development of the members of Paskibraka was composed by seven particular character development of Paskibraka which were discipline, self-reliance, nationalism, responsibility, togetherness, leadership and religious. Therefore, character building for young generation considers as necessary attemp to prevent the imvasion of the nation from foreign culture that does not fit with values, norms, and national ideology of Indonesia.
