This study aimed to describe literary teaching materials development based on Al Bayani model to improve high school students’ appreciation skills on grade XI. This reasearch used research and development method. The research procedure consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, teaching material development and result of teaching materials. The data were collected by using questionaries, observation sheets, and interviews. The data were obtained from SMAS Taman Siswa, SMA N 17, and SMA N 9 Bandar Lampung. The data was analyzed using quantitative and qualitative data combination. The result showed that short story learning module based on Al Bayani model was feasible to use to improve students’ appreciation skills. The feasibility was based on the try out result both of small and large classes with avarage score of more than 94.76%; the teachers’ assessment was 96.18% and the students’ was 93.34%.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pengembangan bahan ajar sastra berbasis model Al Bayan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan apresiasi siswa SMA kelas XI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Prosedur penelitian terdapat tiga tahap, yaitu penelitian pendahuluan, pengembangan bahan ajar, dan hasil bahan ajar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen berbentuk angket, lembar observasi, dan wawancara. Sumber data dilakukan di SMAS Taman Siswa, SMA Negeri 17, dan SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. Teknik analisis data menggunakan gabungan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Modul Pembelajaran Cerpen Berbasis Model Al Bayani layak digunakan untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Apresiasi Siswa. Kelayakannya didasarkan pada hasil uji coba, baik uji coba di kelas kecil maupun kelas besar dengan rerata penilaian guru dan siswa lebih dari 94,76% dengan rincian: penilaian oleh guru sebesar 96,18% dan siswa sebesar (93,34%). Kata kunci: bahan ajar sastra, model Al Bayani, keterampilan apresiasi cerpen
