<![CDATA[The aim of this research were described and expres of advantages figurative symbol in pepatah-petitih Jambi. This research was used qualitative approach with content analysis method. It was based on the quality of meaning. The data were petatah-petitih Jambi. The result of the research was the benefit of figurative symbol in petatah-petitih Jambi. From the result of the research were found that figurative symbol in petatah-petitih Jambi as methapore such as: 1) The using of animal figurative symbol based on humans proximity. Animal as food sources, economy, activity helping, and menace in human life annalogically. 2) The using of plant figurative symbol based on human need of food, source of income, and as food material, condition of the region Jambi agrarian. 3) The using of human figurative symbol involve phisycal, spiritual experience, activity, and objects around human life. The using of human figuratif symbol: phisycal, soul, activity, life and living. Conclusion of the research is the using of figurative symbol associated with phisycal, activity of animals, plant, dan human based on proximity, condition of the region, culture, the life of allied, help each other, agreement, and community.
