UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS MELALUI PENERAPAN METODE PROBLEM SOLVING

Abstract: This study aims to describe the improvement of social studies learning outcomes by using the application of the learning problem solving method in class IX-1 students of SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap. This type of research is classroom action research. The research subjects were 34th grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap, totaling 34 students. Data collection methods in this study used tests, observations and documentation. Research instruments in the form of tests and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The indicator of the success of the action is marked by ≥75% of the total number of students who take the learning process has scored ≥75. The results showed an increase in social studies learning outcomes for students of class IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap after using the Application of Problem Solving Method Learning both in cycle I and cycle II. In the first cycle students who scored ≥75 increased by 83% with an initial condition of 63% increased to 83% and in the second cycle increased by 97%. The average value of learning outcomes in the first cycle increased by 82.35 and in the second cycle increased by 84.41. So it can be concluded that the Application of Problem Solving Method Learning can improve social studies learning outcomes of class IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap academic year 2017/2018. Keywords: problem solving, international trade  Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar IPS dengan menggunakan penerapan pembelajaran metode Problem Solving pada siswa kelas IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes dan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Adapun indikator keberhasilan tindakan ditandai dengan ≥75% dari jumlah siswa yang mengikuti proses pembelajaran telah memperoleh nilai ≥75. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap setelah menggunakan Penerapan Pembelajaran Metode Problem Solving baik pada siklus I maupun siklus II. Pada siklus I siswa yang memperoleh nilai ≥75 mengalami peningkatan sebesar 83% dengan kondisi awal 63% meningkat menjadi 83% dan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 97%. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar pada siklus I mengalami peningkatan sebesar 82.35 dan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 84.41. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Penerapan Pembelajaran Metode Problem Solving dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Buntu Pane Satu Atap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Kata kunci: problem solving, perdagangan internasional
