PENINGKATAN SELF CARE BEHAVIOR PASIEN DM TIPE 2 MELALUI DIABETES SELF MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

Abstract

Perilaku Self Care pasien diabetes belum optimal, ini dibuktikan dengan kegagalan pasien untuk mengikuti rejimen pengobatan diterapkan yang menyebabkan peningkatan kejadian komplikasi Diabetes Mellitus (DM) dari tahun ke tahun. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) merupakan elemen kunci dalam perawatan penderita DM dan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan hasil perawatan pasien. DSME adalah proses untuk memfasilitasi pengetahuan, keterampilan dan kemampuan perawatan diri yang dibutuhkan oleh orang-orang dengan DM tipe 2. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengaruh penerapan DSME terhadap perilaku Self Care pada pasien DM tipe 2 di RS Umum Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Mojokerto. Penelitian ini menggunakan Quasy Eksperimen dengan Pre-Post Test Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah pasienDM tipe 2 di RS Umum Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Mojokerto. Sampel diambil menggunakan consecutive sampling terdiri 26 responden, 14 responden kelompok intervensi dan 12 responden pada kelompok kontrol. Variabel dependen dalam penelitian ini adalah perilaku SelfCare. Variabel independen adalah DSME. Berdasarkan uji Mann Whitney untuk Diabetes Self Care nilai Perilaku p-value = 0.000 (α ≤ 0.05), sehingga penerapan DSME pada pasien DM tipe 2 dapat meningkatkan perilaku Self Care.Oleh sebab itu, rumah sakit dapat melakukan intervensi DSME sebagai solusi alternatif dalam pengelolaan diabetes mellitus pada pasien dengan diabetes melitus tipe 2 melalui konseling. Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) is a key element in the care of patients with diabetes mellitus and is needed to improve patient care outcomes. DSME is a process to facilitate knowledge, skills and ability of self-care that are needed by people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of the application of Diabetes Self Management Education on Self Care Behavior in Type 2 diabetic patients in Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Mojokerto public hospitals.This research was Quasy Experiment with Pre-Post Test Control Group Design. Its population was people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Hospital Mojokerto. Samples were taken using a consecutive sampling comprised 26 respondents, 14 respondents intervention group and 12 respondents in the control group. The dependent variable was Self Care Behavior and the independent variable was Diabetes Self Management Education. Based on the Mann Whitney test for Diabetes Self Care Behavior showed p-value = 0.000. In conclusion, the application of Diabetes Self Management Education in patients with type 2 diabetes may increase the Self Care Behavior.Hospitals can use interventions Diabetes Self Management Education as an alternative solution in the management of diabetes mellitus in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through counseling.
