<![CDATA[Shamans are well known to the Indonesian, in particular Javanese society. Shamans occupy almost every structure in society, ranging from social, economic, political, and cultural structure. Shamans are not just as a profession attached to someone who is considered to have magical abilities, but more as a figure who influences society. The position of the shaman in the structure of society influences people's lives starting from the bottom to the top of social classes. Society, in its culture, need the services of a shaman to simplify and achieve their purpose. Indonesian society, especially Java, are near with mystical-magical and they cannot be separated from the role of the shaman. Here, it is very clear how the role and position of the shaman in the structure of Indonesian society, especially Java.Keywords: Shaman, Structure, Social, Politics, Economy, The Community. Dukun sudah sangat dikenal masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya masyarakat Jawa. Dukun menempati hamper di setiap struktur dalam masyarakat, mulai dari struktur social, ekonomi, politik, dan budaya. Dukun bukan hanya sebagai suatu profesi yang melekat pada seseorang yang dianggap memiliki kemampuan magis, tetapi lebih sebagai tokoh yang mempengaruhi masyarakat. Posisi dukun dalam struktur masyarakat mempengaruhi kehidupan masyarakat mulai dari bawah hingga kelas atas. Masyarakat dalam budayanya membutuhkan jasa dukun untuk mempermudah dan mencapai tujuan. Masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya Jawa yang kental dengan mistis-magis tidak dapat terlepas dari peran dukun.
