Based on public knowledge, drinking one glass of stewed cananga bark water (± 250 mL) can reduce the blood glucose level in diabetic patients. Preliminary test results to hyperglycemic (alocxan induction)male white mice (Rattus norvegicus) Strain Wistar with volume of 1 ml/Kg bw of stewed 200 grams of the Cananga odorataL. barkin 250 mlof distilled water found that it can significantly reduce their blood glucose level. The experimental Method was randomised block design (RBD) with five treatments and fourreplications. Treatment of I (K0) was a control group consisting of untreated mice; Treatment of II (K1) uses hyperglicemic mice treated with 0.5% CMC (volume 0.5 mL/Kg bw); Treatmentof III (K2) treats hiperglycemicmice with stewed cananga bark water at 100 % concentration level (volume 0.5 mL/Kg bw); Treatmentof IV (K3) treats the mice with 80% concentration level of stewed cananga bark water (volume 0.5 mL/Kg bw); Treatmentof V(K4) treats the mice with 60% concentration level of stewed cananga bark water (volume 0.5 mL/Kg bw). Three kinds of blood glucose levelwere recorded: fasting blood glucose, 30 minutes after treatment and the blood glucose post-Dextrose monohydrate using automatic blood test machine (Easy Touch GCU: NESCO multicheck).All of the measurements were analysed using analysis of variance (anova) followed by Duncan test using SPSS.The results show that the treatment using stewed cananga bark water can reduce the mice’s blood glucose level and can use a alternative of decreasing blood glucose level in diabetic patients. Keywords: Blood glucose level, stewed cananga bark water ABSTRAK Berdasarkan pengalaman empiris di masyarakat, minum rebusan kulit batang kenanga sebanyak satu gelas (± 250 mL) dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah para penderita diabetes militus (DM). Hasil uji pendahuluan dari merebusan 200 gram kulit batang Cananga odorata L. dengan aquades 250 ml kepada tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus) Strain Wistar hiperglikemik (induksi alocxan)dengan volume 1 ml/Kg bb dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah secara signifikan.Menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK), lima perlakuan dan empat kali ulangan. Perlakuan I (K0) adalah kelompok tikus kontrol tanpa perlakuan; Perlakuan II (K1) adalah kelompok tikus hiperglikemik diberi CMC 0,5 % (volume 0,5 mL/Kg bb); Perlakuan III (K2): adalah kelompok tikus hiperglikemik diberi rebusan kulit batang kenanga konsentrasi 100% (volume 0,5 mL/Kg bb); Perlakuan IV (K3) adalah kelompok tikus hiperglikemik diberi rebusan kulit batang kenanga konsentrasi 80% (volume 0,5 mL/Kg bb); Perlakuan V(K4) adalah kelompok tikus hiperglikemik diberi rebusan kulit batang kenanga konsentrasi 60% (volume 0,5 mL/Kg bb). Data diambil kadar gula darah puasa, 30 menit pasca perlakuan dan kadar gula darah pasca Dextrose monohydrate menggunakan cek darah otomatis (Easy Touch GCU : NESCO multicheck). Analisis data secara anava (analisis variansi) dan dilajutkan dengan uji Duncan menggunakan program statistical product and service solution (SPSS).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian rebusan kulit batang kenanga dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah tikus dan dapat digunakan sebagai alternative penurun kadar gula darah penderita diabetes.
