<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) mengukur tingkat berpikir kreatif siswa; 2) pemahaman konsep siswa SMA Yabujah Segeran Indramayu Kelas X IPA, melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Virus. Pembelajaran ini dirancang agar siswa menemukan sendiri pemecahan masalah melalui tindakan nyata. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang membandingkan siswa pada dua kelas yang diberi perlakuan yang berbeda. Adapun desain eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah nonequivalent control group design (Group pretest-posttest design), dimana instrumen penelitian ini berbentuk tes. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa SMA Yabujah Segeran Indramayu Kelas X IPA. Disamping itu, hasil penelitian ini nantinya akan dipublikasikan pada jurnal kampus, guna menambah wawasan keilmuan akademisi maupun praktisi. Metode PBL ini dipilih dikarenakan model ini mampu menjembatani perbedaan karakteristik siswa. Pembelajaran dengan PBL menjadikan konsep Biologi disajikan secara nyata atau realistik, dengan begitu siswa benar-benar memahami konsep-konsep tentang “Virus” serta mampu berpikir kreatif bagaimana memecahkan masalah yang terjadi pada lingkungan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan siswa mampu berpikir kreatif dan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman siswa setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran PBL. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol dibuktikan dengan hasil rata-rata 75 pada kelas kontrol dan 80 pada kelas eksperimen. Aktivitas siswa berdasarkan hasil analisis observasi meningkat setelah diterapkan model PBL. Tanggapan tersebut terbukti dengan adanya respon positif siswa 80% menyetujui dan menyukai pelajaran Biologi menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL. Berdasarkan interpretasi skor angket nilai tersebut termasuk dalam kategori kuat. Kata Kunci : PBL, Pemahaman Konsep, Berpikir Kritis, Virus. ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to measure the student creative thinking skill and the concept understanding on year 10 SMA Yabujah semior high school segeran Indramayu, through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching method. The method is designed for the student to solve their own problem in real action. The type of research is experimentalthat compare the student from two classes with two different treatment. Experiment design used in this research is non equivalent control group design (group pretest and posttest design the research instrument is test. The research result will be published in university journal to add the scientific knowledge for academic and practical. PBL method is choose because PBL method can be a bridge to cover student different characteristic, PBL makes the biology concept offer is realistic away, hopefully the student will be able to comprehend the concept about viruses and can push the student to think creatively how to solve the problem around. The result of the research shows that the student can think creatively and the student can develop their understanding after studying using PBL method. The test result from the experiment student is higher than the control student. The control student get 75 score and the experiment student get 80 score. Student activity is increased after result analysis observing after applying PBL method the positive respond shows that 80% student love biology in PBL method, based interpretation score, the result is quite big.
