PARTISIPASI POLITIK MAHASISWA BUOL DALAM PEMILIHAN UMUM 2019

Abstract

ABSTRAKKeberadaan mahasiswa Buol yang tergabung dalam organisasi Persatuan Pelajar MahasiswaIndonesia Buol (PPMIB) di Gorontalo berjumlah 152 orang dengan komposisi laki-laki 69 orang dan perempuan83 orang3. Dalam menggunakan hak pilih hanya berkisar 57% yang berpartisipasi dalam Pemilu 2019 diKabupaten Buol, sementara sekitar 43 % yang tidak menggunakan hak pilih. Tulisan ini bertujuan untukmelihat partisipasi politik mahasiwa Buol dalam menggunakan hak politik serta faktor yang mempengaruhipartisipasi politik dalam menggunakan hak politik. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif denganpendekatan fenomenologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, secara keseluruhan mahasiswa Buol diGorontalo mempunyai keinginan untuk berpartisipasi dalam Pemilu 2019, namun aspek biaya transportasiyang menjadi kendala bagi mahasiswa untuk menyalurkan hak politiknya. Disisi lain ada sekitar 57%mahasiswa yang mendapat akomodasi transportasi melalui partai politik dan calon legislatif. Adapun yangmenjadi faktor pendorong partisipasi politik mahsiswa Buol dalam memberikan hak politik adalahpertimbangan kandidat, faktor mobilisasi dan kinsip atau kekerabatan melalui peguyuban (PPMIB) diGorontalo.Kata Kunci : Partisipasi Politik, Mahasiswa, Pemilu 2019ABSTRACTThe existence of Buol students who are members of the Indonesian Buol Student Association (PPMIB) inGorontalo totaled 152 people with a composition of 69 men and 83 women. In exercising the right to vote onlyaround 57% participated in the 2019 elections in Buol District, while around 43% did not exercise their right tovote. This paper aims to look at the political participation of Buol students in exercising political rights as well asthe factors that influence political participation in using political rights. This paper uses a qualitative methodwith a phenomenological approach. The results showed that, overall, the Buol students in Gorontalo had thedesire to participate in the 2019 elections, but aspects of transportation costs were an obstacle for students tochannel their political rights. On the other hand there are around 57% of students who get transportationaccommodations through political parties and legislative candidates. As for the factors that drive the politicalparticipation of Buol students in providing political rights is the consideration of candidates, mobilizationfactors and principles or kinship through community groups (PPMIB) in Gorontalo.Keywords: Political Participation, Students, 2019 Elections
