Penelitian literature ini mengkaji secara teoritis kelayakan cabang olahraga tinju bagi anak SD ditinjau dari karakteristik fisik, sosial-emosional dan mentalnya. Literatur utama yang di kaji: Evaluasi Program Diploma-II Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Pendidikan Jasmani dan Kesehatan (Sriundy,Thesis: 1998) ditambah literature iterature pendukung. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini: 1) Karakteristik fisik, sosialemosional dan mental anak SD, mendukung kegiatan latihan Tinju,. 2) Olahraga Tinju dapat dijadikan alternatif kegiatan Penjas di SD terutama bagi anak lelaki, dengan memperhatikan kategori-kategori kelas anak SD.This literary study theoretically reviewed the feasibility of boxing sport for students of elementary schools observed from their physical, socio-emotional and mental characteristics. The main literature reviewed was an evaluation on D2 PGSD of Physical and Health Education Program (Sriundy, thesis:1998) and other supporting literatures. The findings were 1) the studentsÂ’ physical, socio-emotional and mental characteristics supported the activities of boxing training; 2) boxing sport could be perceived as an alternative activity of Physical Education in Elementary Schools especially for boys regarding the class categories of elementary school students.
