Abstract

This research aimed to describe the difference ability in writing narrative text about event between experiment group which was taught in Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model using Rainbowcard and control group which was taught in conventional teaching method, and described how effective Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model using Rainbowcard in teaching writing descriptive text about event for seven graders of SMP Negeri 2 Kudus. This research was experiment study using quasi experimental design which was Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The result of this study showed there was difference in the result of post-test between experiment and control group in writing narrative text about event. Moreover, Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model using Rainbowcard was more effective for teaching writing narrative text about event in Javanese compared to conventional teaching method in general. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan kemampuan menulis teks narasi peristiwa antara kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) yang berbantuan media Rainbowcard dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvesional, serta mendeskripsikan bahwa model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) yang berbantuan media Rainbowcard efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks narasi peristiwa pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Kudus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dan desain quasi experimental design yaitu Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kondisi akhir antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dalam pembelajaran menulis teks narasi peristiwa. Selain itu, model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) yang berbantuan media Rainbowcard lebih efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks narasi peristiwa berbahasa Jawa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional pada umumnya.
