This research was aimed to discover the effectiveness of psychoeducation model by using cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) to improve the awareness about the dangers of smoking of junior high school students. This research was an experimental research using randomized matching two-groups design. Design of the research contained pretest, treatment, and posttest. The subjects of this research were 28 students. Technique of collecting data used questionnaire with awareness scale about the danger of smoking. The result of Mann-Whitney was shown that P-value= 0,0485 (0,0485< 0.05), so it can be concluded that there was a difference of the awareness about the dangers of smoking between experimental group and controlled group. The conclusion of this research was that psychoeducation model by using sognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) was effective to improve the awareness about the dangers of smoking of the students
