Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of character education on students' motivation in school in State Vocational School. This study was a pretest-posttest nonequivalent design. The results indicate that of the t-test results tcount 4.726 with p value 0,000 (0,000<0,05). Then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so it is stated that there is a significant difference between the experimental and the control group.

Abstract

This research aimed (1) to describe the students? need for and interest in work readiness skill development and (2) to provide prototype of work readiness service guidance for SMK students using goal setting technique for Counselor. This study employed Borg and Gall?s research and development design. This stage only reached the pre-development stage, product development. Data collection was carried out by using student need and interest questionnaire to find out the student need and interest levels. Data analysis was conducted using factorial and percentage analysis and ranking. The Test results showed that (1) there were students? need for and interest in work readiness development in students?, parent?s, and counselors? perspectives, by considering the result of theoretical and empirical study and (2) considering the result of preliminary study analysis and theoretical study, a product could be developed in the form of Work Readiness Service Guidance for SMK students using goal setting technique for counselor.Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan kebutuhan dan kepentingan siswa terhadap pengembangan keterampilan kesiapan kerja dan (2) menghasilkan prototipe satu panduan layanan kesiapan kerja siswa SMK menggunakan teknik goal setting untuk guru BK.   Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian pengembangan Borg and Gall. Tahap penelitian ini hanya sampai tahap pra pengembangan yaitu pembuatan produk. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket kebutuhan dan kepentingan siswa untuk mengetahui tingkat kebutuhan dan kepentingan siswa.  Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis faktorial dan prosentase dan perangkingan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada kebutuhan dan kepentingan siswa terhadap pengembangan kesiapan kerja menurut siswa, orang tua, dan guru BK berdasarkan hasil kajian teoritik dan empirik dan (2) berdasarkan hasil analisis studi pendahuluan dan kajian teoritik dapat dikembangkan produk berupa Buku Panduan Kesiapan Kerja Siswa SMK Menggunakan Teknik Goal setting untuk Guru BK.

Abstract

The purposes of this research is to know the effectiveness of guidance group bamboo dancing discussion technique to increase student adversity quotient in elementary school. The design of the research that is used is pre experimental one group pretest-posttest desaign. Subject of the research was elementary school student that has low adversity quotient which the amount is 6 persons. Technique of collecting data that is used is adversity quotient questionnaire. The result of clinical analysis showed that there are changes of students behavior become more calm in facing the difficulties, brave to ask when they have difficulties in understanding the material, have brave to face the challenge. It was supported by the result of pretest analysis and posttest used Wilcoxon test showed the increase of posttest which is higher than the pretest. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed Z count equal to -2.207 and Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.027. The conclusion of the research is guidance group bamboo dancing technique is effective to improve students? adversity quotient.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) participants? self-confidence who have high self-disclosure and high economic level of parents; (2) participants? self-confidence who have high self-disclosure and low economic level of the parents; (3) participants? self-confidence who have low self-disclosure and high parental economic level; (4) participants? self-confidence who both have low of self-disclosure and economic level of parents. This were descriptive correlational research. The participants were 106 students taken by random sampling technique. The conclusion of this study is general self-confidence of participants included in the high category followed by medium category both of self-disclosure and parental economic level.

Abstract

The purpose of research and development is produce information materials of studies into college to improve career decision making of High School Students. Research and development is carried out by adapting the concept of Research and Development by Borg and Gall. In expert judgement, the product was rated 80,83% by the first expert and 81,67% by the second expert. In a practitioner test, the product was rated 81,67%  by first practitioner and 80,83% by second practitioner, and 85,83% by third practitioner. Based on the result of hypothesis, it is known tcount=7.588 and ttable= 1,701 (0,000 <0,05),  tscore>ttable. It means that there are difference in the value of career decision-making skill significantly between before and after treatment were treated using information material of studies into college. The information materials have met the eligibility criteria based on expert testing and product testing as well as effective practitioners to improve students? career decision-making skills.

Abstract

This research is descriptive quantitative. The sample is the eleventh grader in total of 155 students. The data are collected through questionnaire. Data analysis for the first and second hypotheses are done through One Tail Test t-test with the left party; while for the third hypothesis, the regression analysis using SPSS is utilized. The results show that: (1) the level of student mental health was considered high, (2) the level of parental support to the students is considered high, (3) the contribution of parental support to the student mental health is up to 25.5 %.

Abstract

This research aimed to produce prototype in the form of learning counseling service guidance to improve the learning skill using mind map for the junior high school students. This research employed Borg and Gall?s Research and Development design. This research arrived at product development only. Considering the result of preliminary study and theoretical study, a product of learning counseling service guidance could be developed to improve the learning skill using mind map for the Junior High School students that contained the parts of product including cover, introduction, part I introduction, part II learning skill using mind map, part III how to use the guidance, part IV curriculum, part V service and material units, and part VI conclusion.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the effectiveness of group counseling with sociodrama techniques to improve students? social skills in junior high school students. The participant of this study were 32 students. The results of this study show that the value of Fo=132.312 while Ft=3.92 with a significance of 0.000<0.05, which means that there is a difference in the values of social skills before and after the treatment given in the experimental group and the control group; the value of Fo=97.209 while Ft=3.92 with a significance of 0.000<0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in the values of social skills between the experimental group and the control group; the value of Fo = 105.478 while Ft = 3.92 with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05, which means that there is an interaction between the values of social skills before and after given treatment in the experimental group and the control group.

Abstract

This action research was carried out in two cycles. Each cycles consist of four steps as follows: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the research is the eighth year students. The data was possessed by observation and questionnaire. The technique of analysis the data was analyzed by descriptive quantitative analysis technique. The action is succeeded whether it meets a demand of successful indicator target as follow: minimum 50% on each subjects and the subjects have some changes into be more diligent in doing and collecting the school task given by the teacher. The result of the study indicates that on the cycle 1 occurs the reduction of academic procrastination on the students in 26,05% and significan reduction on cycle II is  51,42%. Based on the result of hypothesis, it is found out that there os reduction of academic procrastination on the students before and after giving action of role playing. The case can be concluded that role playing is effective to settle academic procrastination on the eighth year students Junior High School in Klaten.

Abstract

This study was a guidance and counseling action research (GCAR). This study was conducted in two cycles, each of cycles consisting of planning, acting, observating and reflecting. Source of data comes from students. Technique of collecting data used was an observation an academic questionaire on the finding in the field. The data validation was conducted using data triangulation and expert metode. The data analysis employed precentage analysis technique and clinical. The research procedure used Kemmis and MC Taggart?s model. The result of research showed that the average pretest value of 75,92. Posttest siclus I showed average value os 88,17 and increasing precentage about 16,12 % was said not significant. The result of action in cycle II showed significant degression of 120,08 and increased of 58,36 % with showed significant value.
