<![CDATA[Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan saintifik dan ke- mampuan bernalar terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan argumentasi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X.B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.E sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t dan ANOVA menggunakan SPSS 21. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan menulis karangan argumentasi antara kelas yang diajar dengan pendekatan saintifik dan kelas yang diajar dengan pendekatan konven- sional (p<.05). Selanjutnya, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan bernalar antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Di samping itu, penerapan pendekatan saintifik dan kemampuan bernalar secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan argumentatif.Kata-kata Kunci: pendekatan saintifik, kemampuan bernalar, menulis karangan argumentasiAbstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the scientific approach and the ability to reason against the argumentation essay writing skills. The sample used in this study is X.B class, the experimental class and X.E, control class. The analysis technique used in this study using SPSS 21 and analyzed by t- test and ANOVA. Based on the results from these tests, there is difference argumentative writing competences between students who are taught by the sci- entific approach and those who are taught by the conventional approach (p<.05). Furthermore, there is difference reasoning ability between the experimental and control classes. In addition, the application of scientific approach and reasoning ability of students together to have a posi- tive influence on the student’s argumentative writing skills.
