Abstract

This research was conducted with a reason that the learning method used in SMP Negeri 3Susukan still uses teacher centered and this makes the students become passive in learning class. One ofteaching methods that can be applied to improve the students activeness is cooperative learning; TypeThink Pair Share and Make A Match. This research was aimed to describe : 1) the effectiveness ofcooperative learning Type Think Pair Share and Make A Match in improving the learning result; 2) thedifferencess of students? learning result between Think Pair Share and Make A Match.The type of this research was experimental research. The population of this research wasstudents? of grade VIII in SMP N 3 Susukan. The sample was taken using purpossive sampling. Theyconsisted of class VIII C as the experimental class I and class VIII D as the experimental class II and ClassVIII E as trial class. The Data collection method used in this research were documentation and test. Thedata analitycal method used in this research was prerequisite analysis test which consisted of normalitastest and homogeneity testfollowed by hypothesis test using t test.Based on the students? mathematic learning result, the average test result on experimental classI was 77,93. It was higher than experimental class II which was 71,6. Therefore it can be concluded thatthere was a difference on learning result between the students taught using cooperative learning type Thinkpair share and those taught using cooperative learning type make a match which was conducted to ClassVIII SMP N 3 Susukan year 2017/2018. Based on t test, it was found that tcount = 2,145 and t table = 2,001. Therefore, it can be conluded that cooperative learning type Think Pair Share was more effective than cooperative learning type Make A Match to the students of Class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Susukan year2017/2018.
