Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan representasi beragam makna tentang hukum adat masyarakat adat Dayak Tonyooi yang terkandung dalam kesenian Pajaaq. Identifikasi melalui analisis dalam Pajaaq. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis wacana kritis Model Fairclough. Data penelitian diambil dari Pajaaq: Ungkapan Kearifan Lokal Dayak Tonyooi dan Benuaq. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat adat memegang teguh hukum adat. Berbagai persoalan diselesaikan dengan hukum adat. Adat istiadat selalu dijunjung tinggi. Adat mengatur berbagai realitas kehidupan yang jelas aturannya. Adat dan tradisi diikuti sesuai dengan keadaan setempat. Adat masing-masing suku sudah memiliki ketentuan. Dewan adat menjadi solusi persoalan yang objektif. Tanda adat pada wajah harus diikuti agar tidak terkena tulah dan bencana. Orang besar/bangsawan selalu menjadi panutan. Masyarakat adat dalam menyelesaikan persoalan mengutamakan musyarawah keluarga dan adat. Kalau ada yang perlu dirundingkan, semua keluarga, atau tetua adat berkumpul bersama di suatu tempat. Jalan musyawarah mencari kata sepakat. Para pemangku adat harus berlaku adil. Meskipun demikian, dalam penerapan hukum adat, ketidakadilan penerapan adat juga dirasakan masyarakat adat yang berperkara.This research aims to reveal the representation of diverse meaning towards society’s customary law of Dayak Tonyooi indigenous contained in the Pajaaq arts. The Identification through analysis in Pajaaq. This research uses a critical discourse analysis of the Fairclough Model. The research was taken from Pajaaq: Local Wisdom expression of Dayak Tonyooi and Benuaq. Data analysis techniques use an interactive model. The result of this research shows that indigenous peoples adhere to customary law: various issues are solved by customary law. Customs are always glorified. Custom regulates various life realities with obvious rules. Custom and traditions are followed according to local conditions. The customs of each tribe already had provisions. The customary council is an objective solution for the problem. Custom marks on the face must be followed as a sign to be spared of plagues and disasters. Great people/nobles are always be a role model. Indigenous people resolve the issues through prioritize family and customs discussion. If there is something that needs to be negotiated, all families or traditional elders will gathering in one place. Deliberation is a way to seek for agreement. The customary rulers must be just. However, in the application of customary law, the injustice of custom implementation is also felt by indigenous people who have litigation.
