The purpose of the study is to know the implementation using discovery learning method to teach writing recount text 12th grade student of 1 Batealit Vocational High School and to know the surplus and deficiency by using discovery learning method. The respondent of this research are the English teacher and the student of agriculture 12th grade. And the method are using interview and class room action research. The result is discovery learning method is more comprehensive than doesn’t using discovery learning. Although there are many difficulty to apply this method because some of them didn’t familiar with this method and most of the students are the lazier person but they are smart students.
