<![CDATA[Kota Depok merupakan kota yang berkembang sangat cepat. Hal ini bisa dilihat daripertambahan jumlah penduduk yang cepat dari sekitar 1 juta (1998) menjadi 1,4 juta(2006) dan juga perkembangan fasilitas-fasilitas umum. Selain itu juga, kota Depok yangberbatasan langsung dengan megapolitan DKI Jakarta dan Bogor yang menyebabkanbanyak arus lalu lintas yang dari, menuju dan melalui kota Depok. Untuk itu diperlukansistem informasi lalu lintas yang handal seperti informasi tentang kemacetan, tentangkecelakaan. Sistem informasi harus dapat diakses secara akurat, mudah, cepat, luas, userfriendly dan juga dapat diupdate data-basenya setiap saat. Media yang cocok untukkebutuhan ini adalah media internet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancangansistem informasi lalu lintas kota Depok yang berbasis web. Untuk menghindari masalahyang berhubungan dengan lisensi perangkat lunak, digunakan perangkat lunak opensourceyaitu PHP, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX dan MySQL.AbstractDepok is a very rapid developing town. It can be indicated by rapid increasinginhabitants from around 1 million (1998) to 1,4 million (2006) and also by increasingpublic facilities. Furthermore, since the location of Depok, which borders on big citiesJakarta and Bogor, causes a load of traffic from, to and through Depok town. Because ofthese reasons we need a good traffic information system which can give us informationabout traffic jammed or accident. The traffic information system should be able to accessin accurate, easy, quick, broad, user friendly way. Furthermore, the data base of thisinformation system should be updated at any time. Since internet fulfilled all of theserequirements, iwe will discuss designing the internet based traffic information system ofDepok in this article.
