PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MEMAHAMI BACAAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE PQ4R PADA SISWA VIII A SMP NEGERI 13 PONTIANAK

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan memahami bacaan siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dalam bentuk penelitian kualitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 36 siswa. Hasil analisis data keterampilan memahami peningkatan dari prasiklus, siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III. Pada prasiklus, nilai rata-rata siswa yaitu 63,05. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata siswa mengalami peningkatan menjadi 70,72. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata mengalami peningkatan menjadi 86,11. Pada siklus III, nilai rata-rata mengalami peningkatan menjadi 96,28. Persentase katuntasan belajar siswa pada prasiklus yaitu 27,78% mengalami peningkatan menjadi 41,67%. Persentase ketuntasan siklus II mengalami peningkatan 83,33% dan persentase ketuntasan siklus III mengalami peningkatan hingga 100%. Dengan demikian, peningkatan keterampilan memahami bacaan siswa telah mengalami peningkatan dari prasiklus, siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III. Kegiatan pembelajaran dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik, sehingga kegiatan pembelajaran berjalan dengan lancar. Kata kunci: Metode PQ4R, Keterampilan memahami bacaan. Abstract: The aimed of this research is to increase students'skill in reading comprehension. The method used in this research is descriptive in the form of qualitative research. The sample was 36 students. The results of data analysis based on the increase of pre-cycle, there are there cycle on this research. In pre-cycle, the average of students value is 63.05. In the first cycle, the average of students value has increased to 70.72. In the second cycle, the average increased value to 86.11. In the third cycle, the average increased to 96.28. Completeness percentage of students in pre-cycle is 27.78% increased to 41.67%. The percentage of completeness the second cycle increased 83.33% and the percentage of completeness third cycle increased to 100%. Thus, the increase reading comprehension skills of students has increased on pre-cycle to the first cycle and second cycle also third cycle.
