Abstract: The problem in this research is "how efforts to improve reading skills beginning with the technique of finding a partner words and images in children age 5-6 years in early childhood Bed Sungai Raya?" Method in this study, using descriptive method with the form of classroom action research. The subjects in this study 15 children consisted of 10 boys and 5 girls. While data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation Based on the research that has been done and with the results obtained after the held data analysis, generally can be concluded that: Planning for learning by using search techniques pair of words and images to improve reading skills starters are categorized as "good", implementation of learning by using the technique of finding a partner words and pictures to enhance the ability to read the beginning categorized as "good".
