<![CDATA[Abstract This research is conducted for displaying the language elements on Malay names in Kampung Tanjung, Mempawah. Moreover, the research aims to analyse 1) The Naming System of Malay people in Kampung Tanjung Mempawah. This research is performed by descriptive-qualitative method. The technique used are interviewing and documenting by utilizing interview guidelines and camera. Meanwhile, this research is analysed by collecting, classifying, interpreting, and connecting all the namesbased on the society’s languages. Then, the data is validated by discussingthe research’s output with the reliable researchers.To wrap up, the research concludes that 1) the naming system of Malay people in Kampung Tanjung Mempawah is categorised by three ways: a) the naming system based on sound structure, b) the naming system based on background, c) the naming system based on the sources. 2) The naming system of Malay people in Kampung Tanjung Mempawah consists of a) The process of the unbounded specific ritual, b) the process of the naming system which comprises i) the using of references, ii) the assembling of elder’s names, iii) the using of media. 3) the output of this research would be a “Bahan Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia”which is – implicitly or explicitly – a collection of Malay Names in Kampung Tanjung.Keywords: Naming, Malay, Mempawah]]>
