Abstract

Abstract This is a quantitative research using questionnaires as data collectors, which is done in the school year 2016/2017 to determine the relationship amongs the Principals’ Academic Supervision and the Teachers’ Working Experience with the English Teachers’ Working Motivation in 21 SMAN in Sambas district. The results of the reasearch are: (a) The Principals’ Academic Supervision is needed by English teachers to motivate them to work. The most activities done in the academic supervision is to socialize the schedule, check students' attendance, motivate and interact with students. However, the school principals discuss the syllabus with teachers is done at least. (b) Working Experience of 28 English techers shows there is only 1 teacher teaches between 1-5 years, 10 between 5.1-10 years, 6 between 10.1-15 years, and 11 teachers over 15 years. Of that number, most teaching experience is over 15 years, they are 11 English teachers, (c) The Principals’ Academic Supervision significantly related to the Teachers’ Working Motivation, (d) The Teachers’ Working Experience is not significantly associated with the Teachers’ Working Motivation, and (e) The Principals’ Academic Supervision and the Teachers’ Working Experience simultaneously dealing with the Teachers’ Working Motivation.
