AbstractThe general problem of this research is to know how the image series media can improve the writing ability of student description The general purpose of this research is to describe how the drawing media can improve the writing ability of the description of the students of class III SDN 09 Pontianak Southeast. The method used is descriptive method with class action research form. The subjects were 34 students. This research procedure consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data analysis technique used is direct observation technique and supervision document. Data collection techniques used in this research are observation sheet and supervision document sheet. The results of this study: (1) The ability of teachers to plan learning in cycle I get 2.73, on cycle II get 3.02 increase in cycle III to 3.65 with less category. (2) The ability of teachers to apply learning in cycle I get 2.49, in cycle II get 3.08, on the third cycle increased to 3,66 with very good category. (3) In cycle I, the average of student learning outcomes has not reached KKM that is 43,41. In cycle II, the average of student learning outcomes is 71.66.
