AbstractBalai Pelestarian Nilai Budaya Pontianak Library is a govemmentinstance. The writer wanted to do this research is for knowing the of this intance. The purpose of this research wa to know the serviceof this library and obstacles in giving the services. Method that was used in this research was qualitative research which is explained the phenomenon based on the data. In order to collect the data, the writer used direct observation, interview and documentation. In the end of the study, the writer found out that service at BPNB library was not otimum yet because of not so many human resources wanted to do a research of find more knowledge on library. For making the service reached optimum level at BPNB Pontianak Library it must make a seriouseffort of giving the appropriate and comfortable service for the readers. Key words: Service Library, BPNB Library
