Abstract

Abstract In learning, one of the various problems encountered by students is the lack of understanding of the material delivered by the teacher, resulting in the low results of learning outcomes. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the point-counter-point learning model towards the students learning outcomes. The applied model is used to facilitate students in learning. This study used a quantitative method in the form of experimental research. The techniques used in this study were measurement, direct observation, and documentation techniques. The average scores of learning outcomes obtained by the experimental and control group are respectively 79.5, and 66.73, with the standard deviation of the control group by 7.77. Based on the criteria, the effect size obtained by 1.64 was categorized as high. Therefore, the applied learning model is adequate for use as the learning model towards the class XI IPS students of MA Darul-Khairat Pontianak, categorized as high by 1.47.
