AbstrakKonflik sosial adalah konflik yang terjadi karena ada hubungan antar manusia. Novel YoshiwaraGomenjo karya Ryu Keichiro merupakan salah satu novel dimana tokoh utamanya, yaitu MatsunagaSeiichiro mengalami konflik sosial dengan beberapa tokoh lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmengetahui konflik sosial yang dialami Matsunaga Seiichiro. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodedeskriptif analisis untuk mendeskripsikan hasil analisis data yang berkaitan dengan rumusan masalahsecara urut, rinci dan jelas. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah novel bahasa Jepang berjudul YoshiwaraGomenjo karya Ryu Keiichiro. Total data yang ditemukan dalan novel Yoshiwara Gomenjo adalah 48 data.Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ada tiga, yaitu mengenai bentuk konflik sosial yang dialamiMatsunaga Seiichiro, faktor penyebab munculnya konflik sosial yang dialami Matsunaga Seiichiro dancara penyelesaian konflik sosial tersebut.Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah bentuk konflik sosial yang dialami MatsunagaSeiichiro ada empat, yaitu perburuan, penindasan, percekcokan dan peperangan. Faktor yang menjadipenyebab munculnya konflik sosial yang dialami Matsunaga Seiichiro adalah karena adanya perbedaanindividu, perbedaan latar belakang budaya dan perbedaan kepentingan. Cara penyelesaian konflik sosialtersebut menggunakan bermacam cara. Namun, subjugasi/dominasi adalah cara yang paling seringdigunakan.Kata Kunci: Konflik sosial, Tokoh utama, Matsunaga Seiichiro.AbstractSocial conflict is a conflict that happens due to human interactions. Yoshiwara Gomenjo by RyuKeichiro is one of the novel, which is the main character, Mitsunaga Seiichiro experiences social conflictwith few character in the novel. The aim of this research is to find out the social conflict that MatsunagaSeiichiro experienced in the novel. Using Descriptive analysis in this research is to describe if the data isrelated with the research questions perfectly. The data of this research is the Japanese novel entitledYoshiwara Gomenjo by Ryu Keiichiro. There were 48 data that were found in the novel. There are threemain aims in this research, which are the type of social conflict that Matsunaga Seiichiro experienced, thecause of the social conflict, and how the conflict was solved.The analysis of this novel shows that there are 4 types of social conflict that Matsunaga Seiichiroexperienced, which are hunting, oppressing, disputes, and war. The cause of the social conflict that heexperienced is due to the differences of culture and interest. The conflicts was solved through many ways,but subjugation and elimination were the most frequent ways that has been used to solve the conflicts.Keywords: Social Conflict, Main Character, Matsunaga Seiiichro
