Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media boneka tangan dan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media boneka tangan terhadap keterampilan bercerita siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain Pre-test and Post-test Group. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar pengamatan dan tes (pre-test dan post-tes)t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa mengalami peningkatan nilai. Hasil uji signifikansi (t-test) menunjukkan bahwa nilai tt (5%=2,093) < te(= 7,386) > tt (1%=2,861). Dari hal tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa nilai t empirik lebih besar dari nilai t teoritik dalam taraf signifikansi 5% maupun 1%. Dengan demikian media boneka tangan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan bercerita dan efektif digunakan pada pembelajaran bercerita. Abstract The purpose of this research was to find out the using of hand puppet media and also to find out the effect of hand puppet media toward the students’ storytelling skill before and after using. The design of this research was apparent experimental research by using pre-test and post-test group. The instruments used in this research were observation and test (pre-test and post-test). The result of this research showed that telling skill value all of the students increase. The result of this research shows that all of the students had good score progress. Based on significance test, it gained the vale of tt (5%=2,093) < te(= 7,386) > tt (1%=2,861). From that result, the researcher found that empirical value of tt was higher than theoretical value of t in significance standard value of 5% or 1%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of hand puppet media had significance influence toward the students’ storytelling skill effectively.
