PENGARUH SARANA PEMBELAJARAN DAN KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPA SISWA KELAS 8 DI SMP NEGERI 35 SURABAYA

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Pengaruh sarana pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas 8 di SMP Negeri 35 Surabaya; (2) Pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas 8 di SMPN 35 Surabaya; (3) Pengaruh sarana pembelajaran dan kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas 8 di SMPN 35 Surabaya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 35 Surabaya yang berjumlah 380 siswa dan sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 195 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas instrumen dengan rumus Product Moment dari Pearson dan uji Reliabilitas instrumen dengan rumus Cronbach Alpha, yang dilakukan pada 30 siswa kelas 8 di luar sampel di SMP Negeri 35 Surabaya. Sebelum data penelitian dianalisis, dilakukan uji prasyarat analisis yang meliputi uji normalitas, uji linieritas, uji korelasi product moment, dan uji multikolinieritas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi uji hipotesis pertama dan kedua dengan menggunakan uji t (seacara parsial) dan uji hipotesis ketiga dengan analisis regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tidak terdapat pengaruh sarana pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas 8 di SMPN 35 Surabaya dibuktikan taraf signifikan 0,124 lebih besar dari nilai alpha 0,05; (2) terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas 8 di SMPN 35 Surabaya dibuktikan taraf signifikan 0,027 lebih kecil dari nilai alpha 0,05; (3) terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan sarana pembelajaran dan kecerdasan emosional secara bersama-sama terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa kela 8 di SMPN 35 Surabaya ditunjukkan dari taraf signifikan 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05. Penelitian ini menunjukkan besarnya sumbangan efektif secara bersama-sama sebesar 39,4% dan masih ada 60,6% yang dipengaruhi variabel-variabel lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Dengan demikian, keseluruhan hasil analisis ini mendukung hipotesis yang diajukan. Kata Kunci: sarana pembelajaran, kecerdasan emosional, hasil belajar IPA Abstract This research aimed at investigating: (1) the effect of instructional facilities upon the learning results eight graders on Science Studies at SMPN 35 Surabaya; (2) the effect of emotional intelligence on the learning result of eight graders on Science Studies in SMPN 35 Surabaya; and (3) the effect of the two, instructional facilities and emotional intelligence, upon the learning result of eight graders on Science Studies in SMPN 35 Surabaya. This research employed associatively quantitative research. The population for this research constituted the entire students of eight graders of SMPN 35 Surabaya signifying 380 students in total. Meanwhile, the sample taken for this research constituted 195 students. The methods for data collection in this research were questionnaire, interview, and documentation. To testify the validity, Pearson Product Moment was utilized and Cronbach Alpha instrument was for reliability test which was implemented to 30 students of eight graders excluding the sample of SMPN 35 Surabaya. Before data analysis, prerequisite analysis comprising normality, linearity, product moment correlation, and multi-co-linearity, was conducted. The techniques used to analyze hypothesis 1 and 3 were T-test (partially), while for hypothesis 3, double regression analysis was employed. The research revealed that: (1) there was no effect of instructional facilities on the learning result of the eight graders on Science Studies in SMPN 35 Surabaya proved by the significance level constituting 0.124, which was higher than the level of alpha signifying 0.05; (2) there was a positive and significant influence of emotional intelligence on the learning result of the eight graders in SMPN 35 Surabaya reflected from the level of significance that constituted 0.027 which was less than the level of alpha which was 0.05; (3) there was a positive and significant influence of the two, emotional intelligence and instructional activities, on the learning result of eight graders on Science Studies in SMPN 35 Surabaya considering the level of significance that was 0.000, less than 0.05. This research unveiled that the amount of effective contribution that gave influence constituted 39.4%, while 60.6% of the entire amount was affected by other variables that were not included to this research.
