Hypertension is a state of increased blood pressure that can cause various complications, such as strokes, and kidney failure. Hypertension in pregnancy, which is a blood pressure higher than 140 / 90mmHg caused by pregnancy itself, has the potential to cause serious disorders in pregnancy.This study aims to determine the factors that influence hypertension in pregnancy in the Working Area of Pancur Batu Community Health Center, Pancur Batu Subdistrict, Deli Serdang District, 2017, with quantitative analytical research with case control design. The population in this study were all the number of pregnant women who had hypertension which consisted of 72 cases of cases and controls. The sampling technique used is Total Sampling. Data collection is done by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out bivariately by Chi-Square test at 95% confidence level, α = 5%.The results of the analysis showed that there was an influence between age (p = 0.016), parity (p = 0.028), obesity (p = 0.018), offspring (p = 0,000), physical activity (p = 0,000), excessive food consumption (p = 0.001), stress (p = 0.031) against hypertension in pregnancy. The results of multivariate analysis that the risk level of hypertension in pregnancy is influenced by heredity, physical activity, and excessive food consumption of 99.5%. For Pancur Batu Community Health Center, Pancur Batu Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency to be able to make a policy in order to provide information about hypertension problems in pregnancy, danger, and how to treat hypertension in pregnant women.
