Stroke is clinical syndrome manifested by impairment of a whole or partial brain function caused by blood supply disruption to the brain. Stroke can have an effect on many function of the body. The most obvious effect is motor deficit, include hemiparese (one side of body weakened). The aim of his study is to identify the effect of Range of Motion exercise to muscle strength of patient with post stroke at Adam Malik Medan Hospital. This study uses the research pre experimental approach cross sectional study. The population sample of 17 respondents and 16 respondents were given Range of Motion exercise two times a day for seven days. The evaluation of exercise was taken on the first an seventh day. Sampling technique used a purposive sampling. Analysis of the data in this study using Analysis Univariate and Bivariate Analysis (Paired Sample T-test).The result showed no effect of range of motion exercise to muscle strength of patient with post stroke at Adam Malik Medan Hospital. This study recommended on the needs of further research and the use of this exercise as one of the independent nursing interventions in providing care to stroke patients with hemiparese.
