PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN HAND SANITIZER ALAMI DI KAWASAN OBJEK WISATA PESISIR PANTAI EMBUHANGA KABUPATEN KEPULAUAN SANGIHE

Abstract

Pantai Embuhanga merupakan objek wisata terkenal di Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe. Pantai ini berada pada Desa Petta Selatan, Kecamatan Tabukan Utara. Terdapat 6 toilet yang disediakan namun hanya 4 toilet yang dapat digunakan. Ketersediaan air merupakan masalah yang dialami warga sehingga berpengaruh pada kesehatan terutama personal higiene seperti mencuci tangan sebelum makan. Di daerah tersebut juga terdapat bahan alami yang dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi hand sanitizer, namun selama ini belum dimanfaatkan. Bahan alami tersebut berupa daun jeruk purut. Daun jeruk purut tersebut terdapat kandungan minyak atsiri yang dapat membunuh kuman. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka perlu diberikan pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer alami. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan personal higiene dan PHBS terutama mencuci tangan sebelum dan sesudah makan, meningkatkan pemanfaatan tanaman jeruk purut sebagai hand sanitizer alami. Kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa memberikan penyuluhan mengenai hand sanitizer dan pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer alami serta melakukan monitoring dan Evaluasi terhadap program tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil pre test dan post test dari hasil penyuluhan menggunakan metode ceramah dengan media LCD dan melalui diskusi didapatkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan rata-rata sebesar 30. Sementara berdasarkan hasil monitoring dan evaluasi yang dilaksanakan sebulan setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan diketahui bahwa pembuatan hand sanitizer alami masih dilakukan sebanyak 2 orang. Target luaran yang dihasilkan berupa jurnal ilmiah Tetengkorang, video dan publikasi di surat kabar Koran SINDO. Embuhanga Beach is a famous tourist destination, located in Petta Selatan village, North Tabukan District, Sangihe Islands Regency. The village lacked in water supply and appropriate sanitary facilities with only 4 out of 6 toilets available remaining functional, seemingly unsupportive for the implementation of personal hygienic program such as washing hand before eating (shorten for PHBS) in the village and kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) grew well in Embuhanga village and because its leaves are known to contain antimicrobial essential oil, they are a good source for natural homemade hand sanitizer. Together with an appropriate training in homemade hand sanitizing agent, they could help the implementation of PHBS program in the village. Thus, the purpose of this communtity service (PKM) was to improve personal hygiene of the people in the village by training them to make natural hand sanitizing agent from the leaves of the kaffir lime and to daily practice PHBS using the natural homemade hand sanitizer. This PKM was implemented in form of training on homemade hand saitizer making and mentoring/discussion on daily PHBS practice with the training, monitoring and evaluation of the program conducted mainly by means of LDC presentation. Whereas pre-test and post-test showed an increase in knowledge of hand sanitizing making and PHBS by an average of 30 point, monitoring and evaluation conducted a month after this community service showed that only two people continued to practice making the natural hand sanitizer. The output of this PKM included publication in scientific journal, Tetengkorang and in Sindo newspaper as well as a video of the community service.
