<![CDATA[Mantra merupakan salah satu bentuk karya sastra lama yang mulai tersisih dari kehidupan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini perlu dilakukan untuk pendokumentasian terhadap mantra sehingga tidak menghilang dari kehidupan manusia. Secara khusus, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan fungsi dan makna mantra pengobatan dari Kabupaten Sekadau. Penelitian ini berbentuk kualitatif yang memaparkan data secara deskriptif. Data dari penelitian ini diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan narasumber yang kemudian hasilnya ditranskripkan dalam bentuk teks tertulis. Teks tersebut kemudian dianalisis. Mantra memiliki fungsi sebagai pengobat, pelindung diri, dan mengatur penilaian seseorang terhadap sesuatu sedangkan makna dari mantra dapat berupa makna konotasi maupun denotasi. Mantra juga memiliki nilai positif, yaitu mengandung nilai pendidikan berupa pendidikan religius, pendidikan moral, pendidikan sosial, dan nilai pendidikan budaya. Abstract Mantra is one form of the old literary works started losing from people's lives. Therefore, this research needs to be done for documentation against the spell so it doesn't disappear from human life. Specifically, the purpose of this study was to describe the function and meaning of Sekadau Regency treatment spells. The current study qualitative shaped presents descriptive data. Data from this research was obtained through interviews with the result then ditranskripkan resource in the form of written text. The text is then analyzed. Mantra has the function as pengobat, protector of the self, and arrange one's judgement against something while meaning of mantra can be either meaning or connotation denoted. The mantra also has positive value, i.e. it contains educational value in the form of religious education, moral education, social education, cultural education and values.
