Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to find out the effect of Make a Match model on the students activities in material of plant structure and in VIIIth grade of SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. This research was true-experimental design with posttest only control group design. Research samples were class VIII C as the experimental class and VIII D as the control class, with sampling technique of simple random sampling. The instrument used the activity observation sheet. The average student activity in the experimental class was 18,55, while control group was 16,53. The result with t-test analysis showed that tcount > ttable namely 4,69 > 2,65, meaning that there were significant differences between activities students taught using Make a Match model and conventional learning model. The effect size value obtained was 0,98 with falling into the high category, having an effect of 33,65 %.   Keywords : Make a Match, learning activities, plant structure
